Flexible Marine Solar Panels with A+ SunPower Solar Cells

Our SunPower monocrystalline cell and HJT/PERC monocrystalline cell flexible 55-240 watt high efficiency (up to 25.4%) solar panels are manufactured to our specifications by highly acclaimed solar panel manufacturers. 
Unique features of our flexible marine grade panels include the following:

• Quality materials - We use impermeable ETFE laminates that will not cloud of degrade with exposure to intense UV light. 
• High Performance when partially shaded: We have blocking diodes throughout the panels to shut off non-producing cells automatically and draw power from producing cells. Our cells are A+ grade cells that continue to produce power even when partially shaded.
• Grade A+ SunPower solar cells -  The panels are comparable in performance to our rigid panels. They produce high power at low sun angles and when partially shaded - ideal for cruising sailboats and all marine applications needing maximum output from limited space. • Mounting flexibility - Flexible panels will contour and flex against curved surfaces with a maximum bending radius of 30 degrees, ideal for mounting on a bimini top or a curved deck surface. 
• Mounting options - Each panel can be affixed by high bond tape, snap, magnetic or screw mounting. Our screw mounting system has become the most popular method of attaching solar panels to canvas biminis and dodgers. Grommets are an added bonus for  ease-of-installation.
• Plug and play - All panels come with industry standard waterproof MC4 connectors on 3 foot (1 meter) long pigtails.
• Maximum output with shading - Our proprietary Shade Tolerant panels are designed to provide maximum output under shading conditions like boom shading.

SunPower Maxeon Series

Our SunPower Maxeon Series solar panels are made with SunPower Maxeon Gen III solar cells which have the highest energy yield (power output) of any solar cell commercially available.  SunPower Maxeon cell technology uses a back contact design which maximizes the sunlight energy available to each solar cell and enables a sunlight to electric conversion efficiency of up to 25.4%. SunPower Maxeon Shade Tolerant Series     ***** NEW *****

Solar panel shading is an issue for many boat owners.  Shading can reduce a standard panel performance by over 60%.  CMPower has developed a series of semi-flexible and walk-on shade tolerant solar panels that provide superior performance when shaded by boat equipment or nearby objects.   Extensive field testing has shown that CMPower shade tolerant panels will produce up to 40% more power than comparable standard solar panels in shading conditions.

CMPower solar panels have high performance SunPower Maxeon solar cells which offer shade tolerant capabilities. CMPower shade tolerant solar panels with SunPower solar cells offer significantly higher energy production capabilities under shading conditions.  

Background:
Typical commercially available solar panels contain solar cells wired in series strings running down the length of the panel and back up to the junction box.  There are one to five series strings of cells running the length of the panel.  When the panel is shaded across the series strings i.e. boom shading, the panel performance is significantly degraded by the shaded cells. (like the weak link in a chain).

CMPower shade tolerant solar panels are wired in sections with short strings of half-cut solar cells and diodes isolating each section.  If one or two sections are shaded, the other sections perform at normal output.   The result is a panel that will provide up to 40% higher output than standard panels when shaded.  These amazing shade tolerant panels are ideal for bimini and dodger mounting where there is boom, mast and instrument pole shading.

PERC HJT Series (25% less cost, 1.5% less efficient)

PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Contact) cells and HJT (Heterojunction) cells are about 1.5% less efficient than Sunpower cells and cost about 25% less. These modified conventional cells produce 6 to 12 percent more energy than conventional monocrystalline solar cells. Premium PERC and HJT solar cells have an extra layer within the back side of the cell. This allows some of the sun’s rays to reflect back into the solar cell, increasing the amount of energy produced resulting in a conversion efficiency of up to 24%.   This enables us to provide the same high quality at a lower price per watt. Manufacture of panels with PERC  and HJT cells can be automated, further reducing their cost. These solar panels are excellent for bimini and dodger mounting. PERC and HJT cells are a very mature product.  The quality is stable. In places where sunshine is strong, both PERC, HJT and SunPower are excellent. Under low/weak light say when there is shading or at the start and end of the day when the sun is low, SunPower cells will usually produce the highest Watts per day.
